According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China and Malaysia have signed a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of official and ordinary passports, marking a new step in bilateral relations. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Malaysia's Minister of Home Affairs, signed the *Agreement Between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Malaysia on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Official and Ordinary Passports* on behalf of their respective governments. The agreement will take effect after both sides complete necessary domestic procedures.

Once implemented, the deal will allow visa-free entry for holders of official and ordinary passports, further boosting people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation. The Chinese Foreign Ministry clarified that the new agreement does not affect existing visa-free policies for ordinary citizens, which will remain in place.

The signing follows the 10th anniversary of the China-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023 and underscores deepening mutual trust.
